Continuation of work on Boyes Drive until Friday, 30 March 2012

Please be advised that the repair work on Boyes Drive has been delayed and will not be completed today as previously communicated, but by Friday, 30 March 2012 (weather permitting).

The work has been delayed due to the following:

1. The Supplier supplies rubber bitumen in the morning and can only supply for Boyes Drive later in the day. This results in the production rate being reduced to 100 tons per day instead of 200 tons.

2. The supply of bitumen has been erratic and the Supplier does not reserve bitumen for customers even though the Contractor has placed the order more than three weeks ago.

3. Two additional minor sections have been added to the work load and has to be undertaken separately as it is on different ends of Boyes Drive.

As before, during these works a temporary one-way system for northbound traffic will be in place between the hours of 09h00 to 16h00 (for the section of road from Clairvaux Road to Old Boyes Drive) and southbound traffic will be directed to use Main Road. The road will be re-opened to normal two-way traffic after 16h00 each day that work is being undertaken.

The Contractor should be complete and off site (weather permitting) by Friday 30th March 2012 and apologises for any inconvenience these delays may have caused.

Please note that once the Boyes Drive work is complete, the Contractor will be moving works down to the Main Road to undertake the final surfacing on the section from Leighton Road (end of Phase 1) up to the Holy Trinity Church as well as the BTB on Section E (Brass Bell to Clairvaux Road). This work should take approximately 4 to 5 days to complete (will be complete before the Easter Week-end).
